Our most recent challenge!
Request:
Frame a 2 bottle gift pack of wine, including the package box (signed by five Australian Rugby League Immortals), a tie and a signed photograph of Arthur Beetson
Solution:
- The package box was opened out, flattened and used in conjunction with a black matt-board as the backing.
- The two bottles of wine had an acrylic holder manufactured for them to be held in place over the box where they had been positioned.
- The tie was secured over part of the package box.
- The photograph was raised and matted on the over side of the bottles
- The moulding was selected and a dressed timber box manufactured to the desired height

The hanging of artwork
The vast majority of framed units are hung on a single anchor point on the wall by placing the cord/wire on the back of the framed unit over such anchor point. This is not the recommended method.
Mathematically, it can be shown that by using two anchor points on the wall for each framed unit that the forces on both the cord/wire and the anchor points on the frame will be reduced significantly. It can be further demonstrated that by varying the angle of the cord/wire from the near horizontal to the near vertical further reduces those forces.
Thus, it is recommended that artwork be hung so that dual anchor points are on the wall and they be spaced so that the cord/wire on the frame unit can achieve up to a 60 degree angle from the frame's anchor point.
