Newsletter No 10 - Winter 2006

Life is too short, enjoy (LITS)

Enjoying a latte at a small café called "LITS, Enjoy", we were reflecting on life in general and the café's name came to life as we pondered what to include in this newsletter.

As custom framers, we are privileged to see many varied and interesting items to be framed. How often we hear customers say "I've had this put away for years"! Why do we do this and forget the pleasure we had in originally in acquiring the piece?

Your challenge

Take some time to reflect on items acquired over the years, that if framed would bring back memories, as well as enabling you to share them with family and friends

Our challenge

We await your things of interest brought to us for framing. The more unusual, the bigger the challenge, but that is what custom framing is all about - presenting the unusual in a pleasing manner that enables you to share the item.

Memorabilia

Rather than just framing a sporting item, consider what can be put with it to make for a really interesting piece to view. If it is a jersey, a team photo, some results, a medallion, a list of players (to help identify the signatures) etc. We have just framed signed shirt, cap and poster (Ricky Ponting) - a really nice piece when assembled

Other unusual items framed this past three months include:
  • 3 Venetian masks,
  • a 1953 page from The Courier Mail (it was the only piece of newspaper found in a whole house recently renovated, so it will now adorn the walls of the new home!),
  • handkerchiefs
  • 4 old Dutch tiles

We have a prize for the item judged the most unusual framed over the next 3 months. Visit our website for details! You will also find many examples of items framed, as well as our specials page. We hope you take the time to visit our site.
